The beast was currently posed as Wirt, his human guise, as he scoured through the libraries vast about of shelves. He had hoped that by doing so he would not cause an unnecessary scene as he planned to do some research about the surrounding forests. He hadn't had the spare time to venture further from the Hotel grounds to tend to the other flora. The garden needed additional help with Lapis being it's sole caretaker for so long, but the call of the trees kept tempting him further into his old habits from nearly a millennia ago. Wirt already had a stack of books piled up as high as the tip of his hat as he quickly rounded the corner to his table.

Fluttershy had come into the library to find a book about flowers and the different kinds of plants that grew at night, she was hoping to maybe use her magic to grow a few more of these plants in the forest near the hotel. as she walked she bumped into someone, "Oh I'm so sorry."

Wirt should have been paying attention, honestly, but when he felt himself run into someone he had to flail about for a second and manage to catch a few of the books the had slipped from his grasp. The majority had landed up on the floor no matter how quick he tried to catch them. "Uh…no, it was my fault and I should've paid closer attention to who was around me." He set his significantly smaller pile down onto the floor and knelt down to pick up the rest.

Fluttershy knelt down to help pick up the books since she did help cause the mess, "Well I'm sorry I made you drop your books." she said politely

Wirt shook his head with a small smile. "No, no. It's quite alright." He said while placing the books back onto the stack. "I, uh, didn't run into you too hard, did I?" he asked with mild concern.

"Oh no I'm quite alright." she said smiling. As she helped him pic up the books she saw the titles and was somewhat interested, "Your looking for books on forest life too?" she said

He set the pile of books on the table and then looked at her. He smiled sheepishly and rubbed at his neck. "Ah, yes. I wanted to help care for the forest. I don't know much on the types of flora that are around here so I thought a little research would help." He explained, patting the stack of book fondly. His expression changed a little and he shakily looked through the books. "Sorry, do I have one that you were looking for?"

"Oh no, it's just I noticed that from your books here." she paused a moment, "Um if I may ask, why are you looking for books on how to care for the forest?"

Wirt slowed down in his frenzied state and looked at Fluttershy. "Uhm, well…I've noticed that more humans are wandering into the forest and messing with the flora and such." He nervously scratched at his head. "It was starting to bother me so I figured I'd fix what they messed up." he said honestly. It was exceedingly hard for him to lie in this form, unless he wanted to be an obvious twit.

Fluttershy simply nodded and smiled, "Well it is nice to see that someone cares about the forest, most people don't realize how much we need the forest to live sometimes.." she said almost disheartened

He smiled, a little proudly and placed a hand over where a human's heart would be. "Precisely! And that's exactly why I've taken up the task of healing the forest, for the time being anyway. Lord knows how much it needs it right now." he muttered that last part to himself.

Futtershy simply nodded and smiled, she was happy to see someone was so worried about the earth and forest as much as she was, she being the Guardian on the forest she knew how much pain it was going through what with humans always ruining nature
