Lapis hadn't managed to meet anyone new in the opening of the hotel. What was the point in it? It didn't matter much to her. They would come and go. She wasn't interested in meeting people at all anyways. She had to focus on her duties to making the garden look pleasing to guests and herself. So far she had done just that. The flowers were blooming in full and looked nice on the moonlit night. There was a favorite flower of hers that she protected, called the luminous flower. It was blue and it seemed to reflect the light of the moon. It made her feel close to home. The water fairy slowly pulled her hand away from the one she was taking care of as she heard the sound of something coming towards her.
Nervous, she bit her lip and slowly hid in the shadows.
(she is going to hide for a little bit as she gets super nervous)

(Understood)
The Beast crept about the garden, currently not in his human guise. He made sure to be careful to stick to the path and keep an eye out for any plants that may have been in need of care. It was becoming a pattern that someone would tend to the flowers, every other night, not that he was complaining. It gave him more time to tend to the trees. He continued to approach the trees and inspect them for marking or injuries.
He growled lowly at the sight of some foolish inscription on the trunk of one of the trees. Some teenagers profession of love to their significant other. He placed a hand over it and carefully began to remove the mark, instead replacing it on his own skin beneath his cloak. He did all this, unbeknownst that he had an audience nearby.

Lapis slowly peeked out from behind her hiding spot and watched the strange creature. Not sure what it was about. She had never seen one like it before in her grove. Then again, she had only had her fellow fairies around. It looked so scary, but as she watched, the blue skinned girl realized that it was helping the tree. It surprised her.
Most of the rumors she heard about were of monsters destroying the forest not caring for it. She had to get a closer look. Slowly and quietly, the girl moved a little closer towards the Beast.

The tree wasn't as badly hurt as the others that he had previous healed. He was lucky it wasn't burned. He let out a heavy sigh once his magic had done it's work. He continued to check the other trees, fixing various problems with them: broken branches, more carving into the trunk, and so on; Each correction he made, a small part of his body changed along with the magic.
When it was all said and done, he closed his eyes and breathed serenely. "It isn't much my friends, but at least you can still live without human scars another night." He said out to the open air.

Lapis gasped, he cared about the nature. Just as much as she did. And was it that he didn't trust humans? Humans did so much harm, true some of them didn't mean to but Lapis still felt that they needed to understand. This seemed like the first time she had met anyone that understood nature as much as she did. She should say something. Do something!
But fear was in her mind, what if he hated her, thought she was going to hurt the forest or anything else. She shouldn't scared but vision of what had happened long ago haunted her. The blue haired girl started to retreat, stepping on a branch as she did.

The Beast's eyes snapped open and he turned to slowly to look down at Lapis. His arms receded into the darkness of his cloak as he bent down to her. She was a young creature, in comparison to him, but she certainly wasn't human. That put him at ease a little.
"Hello." he said cautiously, his voice deep and rumbling. "Can I help you with something?"

Lapis's skin had gone to dark blue and her eyes had changed to look almost like a mirror. Something that happened when scared, she was still trying to control it. She knew that he didn't mean any harm to her, if he had, he wouldn't have asked her if she was okay. Still, she kept her guard up. "...I..." she struggled to find her voice again. "I saw you tending to the trees, i didn't know someone else liked to look over these gardens."

He tilted his head at the sudden appearance change from the other in front of him. He slowly looked at the trees that he had been tending to before looking back at Lapis. His arms slowly came out from the blackness of his cloak as she shrugged. "I don't quite like doing so, healing their wounds breaks what semblance of a heart I have." He slowly turned to gaze at all the flowers that were thriving nearby. "And I take it that you've been caring to the flowers?"

"Ah yes," Lapis said, shyly looking at the flowers. "I love flowers and think that nature deserves to be taken care of. Humans seem to take it for granted. But..they make me feel close to my old life." It almost sounded pitiable, she didn't want people taking pity on her. "I am really nervous around others, so i..I thought that working in the gardens would be a better alternative to working with other people."

The Beast chuckled lowly at her stuttering. "You've been doing splendid work. The flowers are very appreciative of all that you've done." He chose to speak more of the flowers and the other wildlife rather than to delve into whatever demons haunted her past. If just speaking to him caused her to become wary, then pulling the pin on that metaphorical grenade would have unforeseen consequences.

If just speaking to him caused her to become wary, then pulling the pin on that metaphorical grenade would have unforeseen consequences. Lapis smiled a bit more sure that this creature was no harm to her. Slowly, the dark blue and eyes started to change back to normal. "Thank you, I really appreciate that." she said, and that was the truth. Her gaze went to the flowers around the trees. "I am glad that someone else here loves nature as much as I do. No one really understands that nature is just much apart of humans lives as ours."

"You're quite welcome." He turned his head to look at the surrounding garden. "Your relief is well understood. With the amount of humans crawling about, the nature is just as glad as you to have another to care for it." He moved slowly towards the flowers, a few shifted in reaction to his movement. He leaned close to them, as if listening to them speak. "Lapis…" he said with mild intrigue.

The blue fairy was glad to meet someone who understood nature as much as she did. Then he said her name, this caused surprise in her eyes. "You can understand the flowers?" she asked, surprise and curiosity in her voice, not even she could do that. It was amazing. If he lived where she did, how would the other fairies had welcomed him. Would he be a friend to her?

His eyes squinted a little with amusement. "I understand many things of nature. The rustling of the leaves, the babbling of a brook, it is all as plain as day to me" He turned to look at her, being careful not to scrape the plants with his antlers. "Can you not do as such?" He inquired.

Her eyes widened, she hadn't tried. "I am not a nature fairy to be fair, i am more in tune with water and rain." she rubbed her arm, "Nature magic is just something that isn't as strong in me as they were in others I think that in some parts of my mind I can understand a few things about them but certainly not what the flowers can say."
She gently placed her hand on one of the trees. "I knew that the trees were in pain when humans mark them, or when flowers are kicked but I don't think i have heard flowers speak to me."
