My Drinking Buddy...? (tag: Aqua)

Aqua didn't normally frequent bars. She figured one glass couldn't hurt. She would just have a drink, then go up to her room and finally relax. The notion of sleeping soundly in a soft bed with blankets and pillows were far more appealing than a drink. Sleep that would be undisturbed would be even better. But this was cause enough for celebration. So she went to the bar and ordered herself an ale. She brushed her hair out of her face and leaned on the counter as she waited for her drink, unaware of the man sitting next to her.

Aqua paled in mute horror as the drunken man curled up next to her and started getting overly affectionate. She pushed him off her and scooted down two seats. Faeries, like her, were particularly known for having association with elemental powers. Aqua was known for her control of water and ice. But as she started growing anxious because of the drunk next to her, frost patterns started swirling across the bar top and where here hand was restlessly drumming on the polished marble. "Please," she requested softly, "Just go back to your drink... You're drunk. You don't know what you're saying."

Aqua bit her lip. "It's not - You don't know me!" she protested. "And I don't even know you!" She was starting to grow embarrassed the longer this ordeal went on. He was making a scene about her uncertainty. She wasn't the type of person to just meet someone and declare her undying love. She had to be certain she liked him. She looked down at the disguised dragon in confusion, wondering how a 'dog' could have written something like that. "You..." she began. "Being drunk is no excuse!" Drinking only showed a person for their true colors and that's what scared Aqua.

Aqua frowned deeply. She knew she was a Seelie Faery. She was supposed to do nice things for good people. Obviously, this man was a good person. She would have known otherwise, but regardless of her own uncertainty, she got up from her seat and went and got a black coffee for him. So much her quiet evening relaxing. She set the coffee down in front of him. "Here," she said quietly. "Your um, dog, said you needed this." She frowned. Normally the best way to counteract over drinking was water. Unless he was some special breed of human. 

"Depends..." Aqua said slowly, "On what you mean by embarrassing..." She looked away when she noticed him blushing. She assumed it was from shame. "Listen, if you're feeling better, I'm just going to go now." Forget the fact she hadn't gotten her drink yet, Aqua was mortified. She felt like he had only said what he did because he was drunk. Yes, she was lonely sometimes but she wasn't throwing herself headlong into a drunken one night stand with someone she barely knew.

Aqua frowned over the sudden outburst, even more so when the dog showed her a note telling her to hug him. She wasn't a particularly openly affectionate person with strangers. So she settled for an awkward pat on the shoulder. "It was one time." She told him. "Just keep in mind that some people don't care for that style of flirting."

She gave a tense smile, obviously forced and generally uncomfortable. She exhaled slowly. "Why don't we try this again? My name is Aqua. And you are...?"

"It's..." Aqua wasn't sure what to say at this point. Their while meeting had been generally uncomfortable for both of them. "Good to have names now." She decided on. She turned to face the counter once more. She kept her gaze down, to the table top.
